Use Of Technology
Use of Technology and The Internet
Our ministry does not have a physical building or sanctuary. We aren’t a church but a supplement to church. We provide resources to help deepen your spiritual walk and connection to God during the times you are not in church. And we provide resources that give you the Biblical foundations to better understand what you learn in church and to help you get more out of your church experience.
Technology helps our ministry do what buildings and physical places of gathering help churches do—communicate, teach and inspire. So the technology our ministry uses and the value system that guides its use are extremely important. That is why the founders of the ministry also formed a technology company—Bruised Reed Technologies, Inc.—to provide technology to the ministry.
It is important to provide a moral framework for the use of technology in the age of AI. AI is powerful but it’s neutral—neither good or evil. It’s how humans use this technology that is good or evil.
If we pioneer an approach to using this technology that ethically aligns with Christian values, we may create a model that becomes widely adopted before well-meaning but harmful usages of AI become the norm. We can prove and demonstrate this model in the way that we use this technology in our own ministry. You can read more at our technology partner’s site bruisedreedtech.com, and at the website of our first ministry that uses it, thegospelpreach.org.
